I made a throw pillow!!!

So, I got some new couches and I have never bought throw pillows before, but I realized that they are fucking expensive! $15 for the crappiest ones I could find! I thought they would be easy to make, but I wanted to give it a test run, so I made a pillow to give to our tattoo artist, and I'm very tempted to keep it! Anyway, enough with the BS, here are the pics-

I did not use a pillow form because they are a lot more expensive. I could have gotten one pillow form for the price of the entire bag of stuffing, and I think I can make 4 pillows out of it.

I fully intend on looking for this fabric the next time I'm home. Your pillow turned out great, so great in fact, I think I need to make some to go on my bed. OR use the fabric for a photoboard.

How well does it hold its shape, if it's just stuffed with stuffing rather than a pre-made cushion? I'm thinking of making some massive floor cushions, but I worry they'll go flat if it's just loose stuffing in there.

I was worried about that, but then I thought, every pillow I have ever bought has just been stuffed, like when you buy a pillow, it doesn't have a pillow for inside, and if it does, then the form is just a stuffed pillow also. If you are worried about them going flat, I would make just a plain muslin pillow really cheaply and then sew a cover for it, so you can replace the pillow, and the cover will be washable. You could also just put a zipper on the pillow so that way you can re-stuff it if you need to.

I got cheap pillows from Ikea for like $3 that I recovered with band tees and fabric.
And even covering old sofa pillows this way is super awesome.

I'd just make sure you stuff it with more stuffing than you think you need, because it will flatten out a bit (just like a "regular" pillow), and you use floor cushions in slightly different ways than just a throw pillow (sitting on, folding, etc.) so they're liable to flatten out/ get lumpy faster.
