My big one was Social Distortion! It seemed like everyone I knew loved them, but whenever I listened to any of their stuff, I never really got into it. As sad as it is, it took going to see them for me to absolutely adore them!

yeah im with you on this one, ive never seen them, but everyone i know loves them and i always liked them untill i went out and bought a cd [white light white heat white trash] and there one of my favorite bands. i wish i had discovered them sooner because i always wanted to listen to them but never came around to doing it and i love them.

Mine are SHITDISCO and Does It Offend You Yeah. Well, basically all UK dance-punk. Ah, so much better than the bands over here!

And Quebecois artists like Stefie Shock and Ariane Moffat. It's so hard to find French albums on the west coast

I've been listening to the Clash and dancing around the living room to them since i was about 2 but I finally got into them where I started noticing who they were and matching songs with the name when i was 15 or 16 and my dad was like FINALLY I'VE BEEN TRYING TO GET YOU TO LIKE THEM FOREVER!!! He's a music freak and gets mad when I don't appreciate what he appreciates haha.

A lot of alternative country stuff such as Old 97's, Neko Case, Whiskeytown, Split Lip Rayfield, Bottle Rockets, Drive-By Truckers, Slobberbone, Ryan Adams, Wilco. The Avett Brothers, Cigar Store Indians, Tarbox Ramblers, Clem Snide, Jayhawks, etc. The list can go on. A friend of mine was listening to some Old 97's one day and I fell head over heals for the m and that started my love of alt country.

i'd only really ever heard sweet child o'mine and november rain, and didn't think much of them, but one of my best mates ADORES them so i finally got round to hearing some of their stuff that i really liked.

Good going. One of the coolest bands ever. Thats right... I said it. They are up there with Queen on my best bands ever list.

Sopor Aeternus & Rammstein, <3 <3 <3

Actually, I've been listening to Rammstein for a few years, but I've got all of their albums(except the soon-to-be-dropped one) recently.

I'd heard of Sopor Aeternus for years, but actually listening to Anna Varney's voice is an unearthly experience.

Placebo come to mind. I only really got into them after seeing them play at Reading Festival in 2007. Now I can't get enough of their music.
