Lol, I used to make the fairy wings and sell them. I've been thinking about doing it again.
I've also made hair flowers using the same sort of process.

Anyway, when I was in 4th/5th grade in San Diego, there was this small "canyon" thing across from my neighborhood.
We would fish for crawdads for fun down at this creek, but we used nylons with a piece of hot dog or bologna in the foot because we could catch, like, 10 at a time because their claws would catch on the material.

you can cut off a leg to use as a coffee filter in a pinch, or as a reusable one if you wash it out in the sink. but make sure the drain is covered! coffee grounds block like no other, plus they mold and smell.
my boyfriend also used them to make a giant pot of coffee at a music festival. he filled the pot with water, put it on the fire, placed a tied off stocking full of grounds on the rim, then secured it with the lid. it was kind of like a giant tea bag. let me tell you, we met a lot of people giving away free coffee.
