It's my dad's old 57 Chevy Belair, Me and my boyfriend are still working on getting it back in shape and running. mostly sanding and primer right now but here's my car

my boyfriend used to drive a hearse in high school...but it went kapooey...i found another one i thought he would like, the same kind that carried marilyn monroe, but it was in bad shape and we know nothing about cars.

I can't wait until i can afford a vintage car!!!

You guys do look cute, but a word about the "wife Swap" program:
some friends of mine tried to get on. They were very close, but it didn't happen. If you get a call back, I'd suggest looking at it as a vacation, and not as "we're gonna be on TV". (Incidentally, my friends did end up on TV: remember that "special" on "What not to wear" where they had a contest for the "worst dressed couple in America"? Well, my friends were one of the three finalists. They were essentially ok with the experiece, but probably wouldn't do "reality" TV again.)

Introducing Bruiser, my '87 Nissan 300zx.



He was given to me cos he didn't run...but now he runs and needs freakin tires. Dammit. But there are a few more things I need to do before hes finished (reweld the exhaust on (held on with wire coat hanger, heh), fix a couple of rust spots, and new paint job since you can see where someone obviously painted over a sticker or something on the front bumper). I love him.

i've always wanted to learn how to fix cars, but i've never had anyone to show me (i don't know if i'd even know how to change a tire ...but then again, i've never actually owned a car )

i've always admired people who could fix things like that. so my question is this - how'd all of you learn how to do it???

Well, I went to trade school for beginning engineering and took Autobody as an elective. I taught myself all I know about engines just by talking to people and trying different things to fix my cars. I def can't afford to have anything fixed so yeah. I'm def the man of the house, haha.

that's pretty awesome that you went to school for that - i live in a town where everybody's parents are college professors, and now only are they all useless at fixing anything, but they mostly look down on anything that isn't a purely intellectual persuit.

i can jury rig most things into working, but cars are uncharted territory for me. and i am absolutely in awe of anybody who understands them well enough to do repairs.
