How do you store your material/scraps?

I've been using a resuable shopping bag but I really need to find better ways to keep them organized because I have to dig through them.

as of right now, i've just been using one of those big tupperware boxes. I'm thinking about using some type of tape to label which fabric is which.. because well about 95% of what i have is black.

I use the giant plastic bins with lids. I have one huge bin filled with either old clothes that I like the fabric off or other scrabs in plastic bags depending on the material type or pattern so I have some sort of organization. Then I have a separate bin for my nice large pieces of fabric.
When I have money some day, I would love to get some of those stacks of large plastic drawers and just stuff it all in those.

I have an old small laundry hamper that i keep mine in.

I used milk crates, and any kind of bag I could get my hands on. I also tended to just dump them all in trash bags because eventually I'd throw it out anyway (especially when moving and realizing I've had some of the same scraps for 4 years and never used them). Not the best system!

Giant plastic tub--it all used to be organized by color and pattern, but moving the container itself has really shuffled the contents.

At least I know where it all is...

I have mine in cute photo/shoe type boxes that I found at like T.J. Maxx. And I have a knitting bag thing that was my grandmothers that I keep my knitting/crocheting supplies in.

Mine are all stuffed in a million diaper boxes

super great organizing thing i started doing last year was this, for my fabric,belts,sewing stuff,computer papers and art supplies i got two big 3 drawer plastic towers from target for like 9 bux each. each drawer has different a different crafting need. For all my glitter and glues and paints i have one large art travel bin leftover from school that i keep next to them, and a smaller one that i can put inside one of the drawers. for my jewelry making supplies i bought one of those "string friendship bracelet" storage containers which were only like 2 dollars at michael's i also used one of those for all my tattoo equipment parts at work like springs coils and shit like that, and finished jewelry and and such i lined an old wooden cigar box with fabric and padding and stick all the fragile stuff in there, for my watercoloring supplies i put it all in a big cheap scrap booking box. all the small boxes fit right into one of the drawers in the large organizer and it stays neat because i just pull out what i need in the smaller box to use and put it back. you can even get a cheap steamer trunk from kmart or the thrift store.

I keep my scraps color coded in ziplock backs, in a shoe box, in a 50 gallon tote with my other fabrics.

I keep em in oversized easter baskets haha. They have handles and it's awesome. I keep my patches and stuff in them too.

I have a book shelf but so far I only have the machine on it. All the little stiff is in small and large zip locks organised in an old 70's style 3 tiered sewing kit. Some day I want to organize the bottom 3 shelves of said book shelf with all my material and scraps which are now bagged in my closet :/

they are pretty much all over the floor, in plastic crates with lids, and on fabric rolls which i need to get more of because its way better than folding them, i have a fabric mountain..... ahhh so not enough storage!

a shelf is a good idea for folded fabric. also just a large bin for small scraps (hairbow, scrapbooking, patches etc) would be an easy option - you just dig for what you want.
