Do ya think I could do the vest version well with some dark purple vinylish stuff (its real soft like thin leather) I bought for cheaps? I've not made anything this complicated before.. I'd definately try the whole thing with crappy fabric first though.

of course! the first vest i made was of leather, you just need patience and the right kind of needle. be sure to post pics when you're done!

hhmmmm, i didn't make it all at once, i took a lot of breaks everytime i worked on it, which was about two days, so if i worked without any breaks i could've probably done it in a day if i really wanted to.

take as much time as you need, if you need a week to make it then there's nothing wrong with that.
