I used to know how to knit when I was a kid, but I've forgotten it all. Plus I'm left-handed and try to do everything the opposite way round >__<

I got a book out of the library to try teach myself to knit, but I'm not good at learning from books either... I guess I'm a visual learner also. I'm still gonna try with this tut though.

You should try it. Easy christmas gifts...I've made over 4 scarves in the past week! I have been knitting for awhile, but her tut looks very easy to follow.
