TUTORIAL: Pants to Skirt

Postby Electric Porcupine on Tue Aug 07, 2007 5:43 am

This is my first tutorial so please be patient if I made a mistake or worded something strange. I made it because I saw two people asked for one in the other thread. If you have any questions or whatever let me know. :-)

That's awesome..I love your pics!
I tried to make a pants-to-skirt creation when I was thirteen with a pair of old jeans and a stapler! Poor choice!
But this is lovely!

Suggestion for people using this tut: After you rip the seams, you'll see the crotch sticks up all strange in little triangles. If you arrange the pantlegs so the seams are lined up straight (parallel), letting the "crotch triangles" stick up, and pin the legs together (front panel to front, back to back, to make the skirt) and pin the triangle following the straight line from the legs up to the zipper, you can make a simple pencil skirt. Just need to leave a slit in the back or wherever you like.
Introduce a little anarchy, you upset the established order, and everything becomes chaos.
