Straight lacing combat boots EDIT: Photo Tutorial Added

I was surprised not everyone knew how to straight lace their shoes, when I buy shoes, they're mostly even straight laced in the shop!

Everyone just does the 'standard' lace here. Sometimes it's overhand, sometimes it's underhand. That's about it.

I used to always straight lace my chucks and my roller skates, then I got tired of not being able to tighten them easily so I started lacing everything with ribbon to be different, lol.

Ive always done my laces like that since I was a kid cos my dad used to do em up like that for me ^-^

alot of people do it a really funny way but i do it the same way as minx.

FACT TIME.
they used to straight lace boots in the airforce so that if their plane was shot down and they had to parachute out of a plane into the water they could use knives to cut their boots laces and kick them off fast so they didn't sink when they hit the water.

I do it that way and then i pull em real tight til both sides are touching.

I'm glad some of you ladies found that website useful.

I love ladder lacing for wider shoes, like my globes cos it makes my laces so much shorter and looks really different. I did it on my 14 eyelet doc's too, it stays real tight, but is hard to retighten if you have to loosen em so not good unless you have a zip or somethin.

Anywho, there's a few kinds of straight lacing on there for yall.

i wouldnt ever dream of putting fat laces anywhere near my fuzzy zebra nikes! i would like to find purple or green shoelaces though... hmm... time to search ebay.

my parents were in armed forces so i learned how to when i was little, but i still do it because its the only way to get my boots tight enough.
