Use temporary tattoos for your DIY projects!

This is one of those 'holy shit, why didnt I think of that before" things.. When I was in Kentucky 2 weeks ago doing volunteer work, the family whose home I was doing work on had these laying around. And when I commented on the frames, the woman told me she makes 'em! I thought it was a pretty cool idea!

Basically, she took dollar frames and temp tattoos that she got at the dollar store and put them on the frames! Im sure you could put them other places, too.. then mod-podge over them. I just thought it was a pretty cool idea/concept. Here are the frames:









She said it works best on lighter surfaces! Like I said, cool concept... take the idea and run with it!

So the application of the temp tattoos is the same on wood as it would be on skin?
that's such an awesome idea. i am TOTALLY gonna make tacky frames all over the place now.

yea, i guess! Those werent wood though, they were super cheap plastic frames..

this is a really cool idea.

and as much as I like to hate on Ed Hardy.... the company does make some KICK ASS temp tattoos... which you can buy at Sally's for like 3 bucks.

Ooh yeah, I've done these on little sculpey charms. I never could find a use for them, but they turned out really well and they've stayed (I shellacked over them w/clear nail polish) great!

brilliant idea! i wonder if it would work on leather... i would have to use some sort of acrylic to bond over it, but temp tattoo bracelets would be pretty cool.

i did this on a notebook a few years ago and then I mod podged over it. It lasted the semester and looked really cute.
