negative. Its sleeping on peoples couches as you travel. I believe that website was set up for people to find a place to couch surf. It takes expenses off of your travel budget, and you meet interesting people.

ahh i see. Good scheme then (Y) and a load cheaper, accomodation in places in England (e.g. Travelodge) can get EXPENSIVE!

I know a couple of people who do this and only heard good things about it...me, I hate being the guest in someone's house, so I stay in hostels. plus I just love 8-bed-dorms.

I'd be worried they'd turn out to be axe murderers, plus how do they know you're not one? Sounds kinda risky, but fun at the same time b/c you'd probably meet some cool people.

Usually... without the use of the site, people sleep on friends couches or friends of friends..... ya know.. That kinda thing.

Just sign up for the website and search for couches in a city you want to go to! It's pretty easy... they'll give you options like "how many people," "how many nights," "age range," etc. Then they'll match up hosts with your criteria.

I've been on that site for about 2 years or so, i don't really live in a city or where people actually go to travel, so I've never had anyone stay with me yet. It doesn't really scare me, I mean touring bands that I'd met hours before have stayed at my house, so I don't see that as anything different.

This is true. Ive had so many different bands stay with us, and Ive stayed at so many houses playing around. Its great.

Well guys, Tonight I got a request for somebody to stay at my house next month. THIS THREAD MADE THIS HAPPEN! This is too creepy.
