Toothache Relief

If you need relief from toothpain (oral pain in general) between now and when you can get to a dentist.

Pure Vanilla Extract and Cotton Swab. Just get the PURE (not imitation) vanilla on the cotton swab, and then put the swab on your gums by the tooth.

Curtesy of the new dentist. I tryed it today, and She's right. it works. does not burn and doesn't taste bad. I'm willing to bet it is the alcohol more then the vanilla. However, its way better then waiting for painkillers to work.

Great tip - I've been using cloves for years when I'm in a pinch... Guess I finally have a way to get around the nasty taste!!! I've ALWAYS got real vanilla!!!

this is such a good tip cause i'm not a huge fan of taking pain killers for toothaches s they make me a little drowsy.

I post the exact same thing in every tooth/mouth related thread. salt water mouth washes, lots of times during the day to keep away the yuck in your mouth, and then for the toothache there's this wonder product called "anbesol" which comes in both liquid and gel (sort of like bonjella consistency) and I swear, not only does it soothe your gums where there's an ache, but it numbs it aswell because it has an active anaethetic ingedient in it which really works. It's also great for braces aches and canker sores/mouth ulcers, i swear by this product.

Tea is also supposed to be good for tooth aches, there's a natural ingredient in tea that supposedly soothes your mouth, and can also help with infections.

my husband is having some tooth problems right now, and he uses orajel. but he says it tastes nasty. (i don't know for sure, he's usually kind of a sissy lol) so i am going to tell him this!!! hopefully it will help him. thanks!

is there like a free clinic of the mouth? what do people do when they have face-melting tooth pain and no insurance or cash? Go to the local blacksmith?!

if i knew where in oklahoma you lived i could help more, but just search "public health dentist" using google or call your local public health clinic. (If you need to find that type in your county and state and WIC, generally where the WIC office is there is a health clinic. ) If you still need help, PM me. OKC has lots of resources.
